The Amrit Campaign:
Natural Antidote to Chemotherapy’s Toxic Side-Effects
Summary:
To publicize the benefits of MAPI’s super-antioxidant
“Amrit” formula (MAK4) for patients undergoing
chemotherapy, we highlighted research conducted by Hari Sharma,
M.D., Professor Emeritus and former Director of Cancer Prevention
and Natural Products Research at the Ohio State University
College of Medicine. Dr. Sharma’s study showed Amrit
to be a promising adjuvant to chemotherapy—reducing
symptoms of nausea and vomiting (22% less than controls),
anorexia (26% less), and improving patients’
ability to tolerate treatments (17.5% more). “Amrit
helps patients complete their course of chemotherapy,”
explained Dr. Sharma, who had researched the antioxidant effects
of the formula for over 10 years. “Amrit is the broadest
spectrum antioxidant combination I have seen.” His research
found Amrit to be 1000 times more powerful in antioxidant
properties than vitamin C, E and even the pharmaceutical probucol.
Strategy:
To mitigate media bias against a CAM approach, we focused
on Amrit's proven ability to improve patient compliance during
chemotherapy.
We set up a test tour targeting Wellness Centers and cancer support groups in Ohio, where the research had been conducted. Dr. Sharma presented his findings along with renowned Northern Kentucky plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Christine Horner-Taylor, M.D. A number of cancer patients agreed to provide testimonials at these presentations and also conduct media interviews. Based on our success in Ohio, we expanded the tour to other cities across the country.
