NECS

Summary:

NECS, owned by Cellcom, Israel’s largest wireless company, offered MailPush, an off-line e-mail notification service in 30 countries. They also developed C-Webmail software, which enabled users to download Hotmail messages to their PCs like a POP3 account. When DDC took this subsidiary of the Bell South International Group as a client in the summer of 1998, they had no marketing infrastructure in the U.S. and hired us to put them on the map.

Strategy:

Although “push technology” wasn’t a new concept in the U.S. market, the ingenuity of this Bell South International subsidiary made them stand apart. We pitched “proof of concept” stories first and then set up a road show for MailPush’s President, Zvika Eadan.

Results:

In eight months, we successfully placed over 100 articles for NECS in such publications as US News and World Report, The New York Times, Business Week online, ZDNet, Nando Times, CNET, and the Associated Press and Reuters news wires, as well as all major computer consumer publications and relevant trades.
